My opinion on Nike SQ2 Sumo Driver

Nike SQ2 Sumo DriverI have tried using the Nike SQ2 Sumo Driver in search for a better driver. After purchasing one and having to use it for several months i was moderately satisfied with the results of my experiment.

Using the Sumo SQ2 Driver has its advantages and disadvantages to a 20+ handicapper like me. The most obvious advantage is how high the forgiveness of this driver has on hackers and mishits you can hit the ball offcenter of the huge clubhead and still the ball zooms straight which is very good in narrow fairways such as the public courses i play on like Veterans Golf Club and the Navy Golf Club.

Still you need a good fundamental swing to be able attain the straight line for this driver because having a bad swing will not do this driver any good as well as any new drivers, the only thing this driver forgives is the inaccuracy of the swing but not the crookedness of the swing.

Im saying this because if your swing is out-in on impact then its a 100% wicked slice which will definely result into frequent out of bounds (OB’s) so you really gotta have a nice follow through for your swing angle to go straight so even if you have incaccuracy to hit the center of the clubhead as long as the clubhead is going through the ball straight then your tee off is just gonna be just fine.

The obvious disadvantage i noticed with the club is the softness of the shaft it always gets left behind at impact giving me frequent slices so i decided to upgrade the shaft to a extra stiff one, so if your a slow swinger then the regular shaft is ok as it will help your driving distance with its spring impact but as you get better and getting faster on your swing speed then you have to upgrade to a stronger shaft as a soft one will give you frequent slices.
